Brightline Baggage Policy


Brightline allows travelers to bring luggage with clear policies.
Carry-On Baggage
All Brightline passengers are allowed to bring two carry-on bags and one personal item for free.
Allowance
Carry-on bags must be stored in overhead bins or under the seat.
- Number of Bags Allowed: 2 carry-on bags per passenger.
- Weight Limit: Each bag must not exceed 50 lbs (23 kg).
- Size Limit: Maximum dimensions per bag: 28 x 22 x 11 inches.
Personal Item Allowance
Personal items must be stowed under the seat in front of you.
- Number of Items Allowed: 1 personal item per passenger.
- Weight Limit: Maximum 25 lbs (12 kg).
- Size Limit: Maximum dimensions: 14 x 11 x 7 inches.
- Examples of Personal Items: Backpack, laptop bag, small purse, or briefcase.
Checked Baggage
- Currently, Brightline does not offer a checked baggage service.
- Passengers must be able to handle their own luggage and place it in designated storage areas onboard.
Oversized & Special Items
If you’re traveling with larger or special items, it’s important to know Brightline’s policies.
Bicycles
- Brightline allows bicycles onboard but requires advance reservations.
- Folding bicycles: Allowed onboard if stored in a carry bag.
- Standard bicycles: May need to be stored in designated bike racks at select stations.
Strollers & Baby Gear
- Compact strollers are allowed onboard as part of your baggage allowance.
- Larger strollers may need to be folded and stored in designated areas.
Sporting Equipment
- Golf clubs, surfboards, and large sports equipment are not permitted onboard.
- Skis and snowboards are also restricted due to storage limitations.
Musical Instruments
- Small musical instruments (violins, guitars, etc.) can be carried onboard if they fit in the overhead bin or under your seat.
- Large instruments must comply with carry-on size restrictions.
Bag Storage at Brightline Stations
- Some Brightline stations have limited storage areas for luggage.
- Locker rentals may be available at certain stations (check with staff for availability).
Luggage Assistance
- Premium Class passengers may receive assistance with luggage.
- Station staff can assist passengers with disabilities or those needing extra help.
Tips for Luggage Hassle-Free Travel
- Pack light to make it easier to store your bags onboard.
- Arrive early to secure space for larger carry-on bags.
- Label your luggage in case of misplacement.
- Keep valuables in your personal item for easy access.
- Use a backpack or soft-sided bag to fit under the seat more easily.
