Train Accessibility and Amenities Onboard

Designated wheelchair spaces available on all long-distance trains (ICE, IC, EC).

  • Priority Seating: Reserved seating is available near doors for passengers with reduced mobility.
  • Accessible Restrooms: Equipped with wide doors, grab bars, and emergency buttons.
  • Quiet Zones: Available on long-distance trains for passengers seeking a more peaceful journey.

Boarding and Alighting Assistance

  • Service staff or train crew assist with boarding and alighting using portable lifts or ramps.
  • At smaller stations, assistance may require advance booking through the Mobility Service Centre.
  • Special Carriages: Long-distance trains often have dedicated carriages for passengers with reduced mobility, located near wheelchair-accessible restrooms.

Travel with Assistance Devices

  • Maximum dimensions: 30 x 48 inches (76 x 122 cm).
  • Maximum weight (including passenger): 600 lbs (272 kg).
  • Mobility Aids: Walkers, crutches, and similar aids are allowed on board without restrictions.
