Indian Trails Baggage Policy
Indian Trails has a clear and structured baggage policy to ensure a smooth travel experience for all passengers. Below is a detailed breakdown of the carry-on, checked baggage, excess baggage fees, and prohibited items.
Carry-On Baggage
Each passenger is allowed to bring one (1) piece of carry-on baggage free of charge.
- Maximum weight: Up to 25 lbs (11 kg).
- Storage: Must fit in the overhead compartment or under the seat.
- Additional personal items: In addition to the carry-on bag, passengers may bring one (1) purse or laptop bag.
Important Notes for Carry-On Bags
- Carry-on items should be small and manageable by the passenger.
- Indian Trails is not liable for any lost, stolen, or damaged carry-on items.
- Valuable items such as cash, jewelry, passports, and electronics should always remain with the passenger.
Checked Baggage
In addition to the carry-on bag, passengers are allowed to check one (1) piece of baggage for free.
- Weight Limit: No official weight limit specified, but it should be manageable by the passenger.
- Storage: Checked baggage is placed in the under-bus storage compartment.
- Liability: Indian Trails is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged baggage.
Excess & Additional Checked Baggage
- Extra bags: Additional bags can be checked for a $15 fee per bag.
- Oversized luggage: If baggage exceeds standard size limits, additional charges may apply.
Special Items & Equipment
Bicycles
- Bicycles must be stored in a secure case (wood, leather, canvas, or a bicycle box).
- Bicycles count as one checked bag.
Strollers & Car Seats
- Infant strollers and child seats do not count toward baggage limits.
- Must be collapsible and will be stored in the under-bus compartment.
Wheelchairs & Mobility Devices
- Manual and collapsible wheelchairs can be stored in the baggage compartment free of charge.
- Motorized mobility aids must fit within the following size and weight limits:
- Maximum dimensions: 30” x 30” x 48”
- Maximum weight: 200 lbs
- If the device exceeds these limits, it cannot be transported.
Oxygen & Medical Equipment
- Portable oxygen tanks and respirators are allowed on board and are not counted as baggage.
- Maximum allowance:
- Two (2) tanks may be carried onboard.
- Two (2) tanks may be stored in the baggage compartment.
- Tanks in the baggage area must be in a protective case and have safety caps on the valves.
- Charging ports for oxygen tanks and respirators are not guaranteed onboard.
Prohibited Items in Baggage
The following items are not allowed in checked or carry-on baggage:
- Weapons & Firearms: Guns, BB guns, knives, stun guns, and martial arts weapons.
- Explosives & Flammable Materials: Fireworks, gasoline, lighters, matches, propane tanks, and aerosol sprays (except toiletries).
- Hazardous Materials: Batteries (except those in mobility devices), chlorine, bleach, and turpentine.
- Live Animals: Birds, reptiles, and wild game (except service animals).
- Perishable Goods: Food that could leak or spoil.
- Valuables: Jewelry, cash, electronic devices, passports, or any valuable documents.

Lost or Delayed Baggage
If your checked baggage does not arrive with you:
- Report immediately: Notify Indian Trails staff at your destination.
