Gontijo Pet Policy
For passengers travelling with pets, Gontijo enforces the following guidelines:
- Travel Duration:
- Pets are only permitted on routes with a maximum duration of 8 hours.
- Seat Purchase:
- Passengers must purchase an additional adjacent seat for accommodating pet carriers.
- Pet Size & Carrier Requirements:
- Small-sized pets must travel in appropriate carriers measuring (maximum) 41cm length x 36cm width x 33cm height.
- Carriers should be leak-proof and comfortably ventilated for the pet’s well-being.
- Required Documentation:
- An updated vaccination card signed by a licensed veterinarian
- Health certificate issued no more than 15 days before the travel date
- Embarkation and Authorisation:
- Advance authorisation granted by Gontijo is mandatory.
- The company limits the number of pets allowed per trip, therefore checking the availability and booking ahead is highly advised.
- All onboard passengers must consent to travelling with pets.
- Service and Emotional Support Animals:
- Guide dogs and other service animals are welcome and exempt from some restrictions upon presenting appropriate documentation.
- Service animals must always remain beside their owner during the journey.
