Go Buses Pet Policy
Go Buses has a strict no-pet policy, with the exception of ADA-compliant service animals. Below is a complete guide to the pet policy, including guidelines for service animals and important restrictions for all travellers.
General Pet Restrictions
Pets are NOT allowed on Go Buses.
- No exceptions are made for small pets, even if they are kept in a carrier.
- Emotional support animals (ESAs) are not permitted on board.
- Passengers attempting to board with a pet may be denied travel without a refund.
Service Animals
Go Buses complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and allows certified service animals to accompany passengers with disabilities.
- Definition of a Service Animal: A service animal is a dog or miniature horse that has been individually trained to perform a task for a person with a disability.
- Proper Behaviour: The service animal must remain under control at all times and cannot block aisles or seats.
- Health and Hygiene: The animal must be clean, well-behaved, and housebroken.
- No Additional Fees: There is no charge for bringing a service animal on board.
Animals That Do Not Qualify as Service Animals
The following are NOT considered service animals under ADA regulations and are not permitted on Go Buses:
- Emotional Support Animals (ESAs)
- Therapy Animals
- Comfort Animals
- Pets providing companionship
Passenger Responsibilities
- The passenger is responsible for the care and supervision of their service animal.
- The animal must remain on a leash, harness, or tether unless the passenger’s disability prevents using such devices.
- Go Buses staff may ask:
- Whether the animal is required due to a disability.
- What specific tasks the animal has been trained to perform.
- Staff cannot ask for documentation or require proof of certification.
