Poitiers

No escalators or elevators or ramp to reach train platforms. How is it possible that architects do not consider such a factor for a station intended for travelers, human beings with suitcases rolling around? Also, the clock at the train platform 2 is inaccurate, more than 10 minutes ahead,

A well appointed train hub that had been upgraded and modernised. Approachable staff here who are more than happy to assist. There's covered area for drop off and pickup. Wheelchair friendly. This is the usual intersection if you're travelling to La Rochelle from Paris. From here to La Rochelle takes about an hour and a half and about 12 stops before it terminates in La Rochelle. Gare de Poitiers is clean, well maintained and an important intersection between Paris and outer cities.

Very busy and not much in English to let you know where you are or going

At the base of the hill on which the city lies. Bus terminal just to the north. Decent little restaurant to sit and relax on the south end. Help out the nice Slovakian couple if you run into them; just looking for work and better life.

Came here from Parthenay by bus as there is no more trains to go down south LYON But the bus was extremely late. It was 25 minutes late but the train waited for us. Coming out of the bus station, we just had to run to the train station. It took us around 4 minutes. Water was given on the plateforme as there is a huge heat wave all over France. Luckily, we caught our train!
