This was a solid station to both depart and arrive at, with appropriately sized platforms for the trains and staff checking tickets at the broken gates! Various departure boards make it easy to track services and similarly the signs help with navigation, as does the underground tunnel. This has ease of accessibility through both stairs and a lift, leading out to the main stations areas where cleanliness had been maintained!

21/07/23: back again for the Ale Trail. Lovely clean station, a couple of small shops for travel essentials.

No complaints regarding Huddersfield train station. Trains were on time (on a Saturday full of strike action) and its well served by taxi services, as well as being right in the town so you can literally step out of the building & go shopping. There are a few spots that could do with a lick of paint & a good scrub up with Mr Sheen etc, but otherwise a good station.

Interesting, due to the geography, much of the built up area is due to the steepness of the small valleys, around its centre. It has imposing buildings, marvellous architecture. The station and it's surroundings, many civic centers would die for. The main shopping area has all the amenities, you could ask for. The people are kind and generous with their time. In half a day, a good place to see, imwish I had more time to explore

Huddersfield is an ancient industrial town with many factors. In these present times it's not much as it was in terms of industries. It's now more of a less dense town with some ancient buildings, a standard university as "University of Huddersfield", a stadium and some nice shopping centers.
