Extremely uncomfortable and dangerous train station. If you are taking the train from here be aware there are muggers, pickpockets and those who are looking to prey on travellers.I have never written a google review before but I want to warn you DONT go at night and DONT go to early. If you wait for the train at this station there is a high chance you will be followed or harassed. my boyfriend and I are experienced backpackers and we have never felt more uncomfortable than this station. We were followed and almost mugged. Please be safe

Absolute worst station I've experienced in Italy, and I've seen many. You step out of the station and there is a bus station under construction, next is a multi-lane highway without any pedestrian crossings. Dangerous if you're a pedestrian, near suicidal if you're traveling with a toddler in a stroller like I did. Public transport options to the center are very limited, hard to find tickets (not at newspaper kiosks like in the rest of Italy) it took me over 90 minutes to get to my hotel, which should have taken 15 minutes according to Google maps. If I ever return to Perugia it'll be by car!

Trenitalia does a great job at a resonable cost. Clean, safe and the ticket agents speak at least some English. Wait to go the bathroom on the train or pay at the terminal. The Mini Metro will take you to the station. No need for a cab if you use the Metro. Remember to validate your ticket at the yellow machine before you get on. Figuring out the train schedule on line is difficult. It is just easier to ask at the station. The site Rome to Rio is often wrong.

Typical train station. Average restroms cleaness. Ticket machines in main hall.
