Southeastern Stages is committed to providing accessible transportation for passengers with disabilities. The company complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and strives to ensure a safe, convenient, and comfortable travel experience for all passengers.

Wheelchair-Accessible Buses

  • Southeastern Stages operates a fleet of ADA-compliant motorcoaches.
  • Buses are equipped with lifts to accommodate passengers using wheelchairs or mobility scooters.
  • Advance notice is recommended to ensure proper accommodations.

Priority Seating

  • The first four seats on each bus are reserved for passengers with disabilities, elderly travelers, and unaccompanied minors.
  • If these seats are occupied, bus operators will assist in finding an alternative seat that meets the passenger’s needs.

Assistance with Boarding & De-Boarding

  • Bus operators and staff can assist with:
    • Getting on and off the bus.
    • Luggage handling.
    • Storage and retrieval of wheeled mobility devices.
  • Passengers should inform the driver or staff if they require assistance.

Traveling with a Wheelchair or Mobility Scooter

  • Collapsible wheelchairs and mobility aids are transported free of charge.
  • If traveling with a non-collapsible wheelchair, passengers must notify Southeastern Stages at least 7 days in advance to confirm space availability.
  • Space Limitations:
    • Each bus has a limited number of spaces for wheelchairs.
    • For additional accessibility needs, advance booking is strongly recommended.

Portable Oxygen and Medical Equipment

  • Oxygen tanks and respirators are allowed onboard.
  • Passengers may carry up to four (4) canisters:
    • Two (2) canisters onboard.
    • Two (2) canisters in the baggage compartment.
  • Passengers are responsible for ensuring they have enough oxygen for the duration of their trip.

Traveling Alone

  • Passengers may travel alone if they are independent and do not require personal assistance for:
    • Using the restroom.
    • Taking medication.
    • Constant supervision during travel.
  • Southeastern Stages does not provide personal care services.

Service Animals

  • Allowed: Service animals trained to assist passengers with disabilities travel free of charge.
  • Seating: Service animals must sit at the passenger’s feet or lap and cannot occupy a seat.
  • Emotional Support Animals (ESAs): Not classified as service animals and are not allowed onboard.

Booking Accessibility Services

To ensure the best experience, Southeastern Stages strongly recommends that passengers with disabilities:

  • Inform the company at least 36 hours before departure if special assistance is required.
  • Provide 7 days' notice if traveling with a wheelchair or other mobility devices that need special accommodations.
